The Ambleside Community of Schools

Since its founding, Ambleside of Fredericksburg has been an inspiration to teachers and parents seeking a better way to educate children. From across North America, South America and Europe, teachers, schools administrators, and parents have come; traveling to the little town of Fredericksburg, Texas; seeking to discover what an education can be. Several left so inspired that they have sought to establish Ambleside Schools in their own home towns. In addition to Fredericksburg, currently the Ambleside Community of Schools includes:

Ambleside Herndon, Virginia: established in 1999, Ambleside of Herndon is a K to 8th grade school serving the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC.

Ambleside San Angelo, Texas: founded in 2003 by a group of parents inspired by the Fredericksburg school, they currently have students in grades K to 12.

Ambleside School of Ocala, Florida opened its doors in August 2006 and currently has students in K through 4th grade.

Ambleside School of Hout Bay, South Africa, located near Cape Town, was founded in 1987 as the Hout Bay Christian School. In 2006, the school adopted Charlotte Mason's philosophy and the Ambleside Method. It currently offers classes through grade nine.

School of the Green Olive Tree, in Pombos, Brazil: created by an American missionary family to serve poor families in a small city in the state of Permambuco, Brazil, has sought to use the Ambleside Method and Curriculum adapted for Portuguese speaking students.

Ambleside Schools International provides training, curriculum and other support to all Ambleside schools as they seek to consistently apply the Principles of Charlotte Mason.
